Aishwarya Rai Bachchan recently walked the red carpet at 71st Cannes Film Festival and truly ruled it like each time. Aishwarya has been winning hearts of her fans globally ever since she started her journey – she’s not just a great movie star but also a woman of substance. She’s now a mother of her little daughter who she makes sure accompanies her at important events of her life like Cannes. In her recent interview, the blue eyed beauty spoke about how it’s high time women should stop judging each other and instead come out in full support.
She said, “We as women need to stop judging each other. If you apply makeup that doesn't mean you don't have brains. It doesn't mean you lack in substance. It does not meant that you are not sensitive or compassionate. At the same time, if you choose not to use makeup, it doesn't mean you are a disinterested person or a person lacking in colour. Or that you are brainy just because you don't put makeup. Or that you are too serious and not a fun-loving person.”
On walking the red carpet with 82 other incredible women from all across the globe, Aishwarya said, “We witnessed such an incredible moment with 82 women from the cinema together on the red carpet, representing all of us. I wish I was called but that's the number they wanted in order to represent the comparison between the number of female directors and 1600 male directors whose films are being shown at Cannes. We, as women want, that number to change.”
