Nikhil Advani is all set to make a comeback to directing films this year after a hiatus of 3 years, during which he produced films like Airlift and Lucknow Central. His next film is based on the true events of the Batla House Encounter Case in Delhi. John Abraham and Saif Ali Khan are confirmed for the project, however, the rest of the cast remains undisclosed. Advani was initially planning to make a film on the controversial subject of Operation Blue Star but decided against it and focussed on the case of Batla House as he felt it was more relevant.

John Abraham and Nikhil Advani have worked in 2007 for Saalam-e-Ishq and joined hands again for this project. John will portray the role of DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav in the film. Talking about the casting, Nikhil Advani said, “Sanjeev Kumar Yadav wanted a physically and mentally strong actor and John fits the bill. With a little light on him and a flash of those dimples, John stands out in a crowd. The biggest challenge will be to make him blend in.” The actor confirmed it too by talking about the character, “We are yet to meet, but I’ve been devouring all the material on him, and from what I’ve read, he seems like a humble man with an interesting back story.”
